So, today is December 1st.. only one more month and the year is over!!

What a crazy year… so many amazing things have happened this year, and many times full of stress as well.

Breaking it down

So this last week I’ve been struggling a lot.. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, behind on projects and totally exhausted.. This last year, I’ve been learning a lot about myself and about how to keep focused and productive while I work from home and continue to build my own business, and for some reason this last week I forgot about all that and just let life overwhelm me. Running on Fumes

The last month or so it feels like I haven’t stopped.. I’ve been pushing really hard to continue to build my health & fitness coaching business as well as my Marketing & Consulting business. I’ve put some simple things into my schedule and I’m very pleased with the progress I’ve been able to make which is awesome.

But at the same time life still happens… Read More

Here we go again (again)

It feels like I’ve written this blog post a hundred times already, but I haven’t put the proverbial pen to paper once in the last few months. I’ve been working… working hard at making positive changes in my life so that I can be more present for my family, and more engaged in building my future.

Getting Healthy – A Father’s Journey

So, about 2 months ago I made a decision that I need to improve my health. I sit in a chair for most of the day working on a computer. I hope to get more frequent again and catch up with the last few months of our lives, but in the mean time I just wanted to brag about my daughter. She’s my Superhero. Diabetes is a part of her life, but it’s not what defines her.

T1D in Schools – Great interview from BC Parent

I found this interview from just last week from a parent out in British Columbia. Very well spoken and communicated well the issues related to young children in schools and the importance of having proper care in order to facilitate a positive learning environment!

Saving money

I feel bad for families who don’t have medical plans, or those who live in the US where I’ve heard there are a lot of things that aren’t covered the same way that they are here in Canada.

A Day in the Life

Today marks 1 year since Rainbow was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. So, what goes on in the life of a kid that lives with T1D? Well, the first thing we learned is that there is seldom a ‘typical’ day. Its a constantly changing thing and there isn’t a magic formula to make sure that everything will always work the same way.

Welcome to our Nightmare

I wanted to share a little bit about the few weeks leading up to Rainbow being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as well as soon afterwards.

We are soon approaching the one year ‘diaversary’ and so we often think back on what happened. We also have had friends ask about how we found out and what symptoms she had.
